Here at Land Rover Centre, as well as having a HUGE photo archive of Land Rovers we have had over the years, we also keep stock books going back nearly 50 years.
Occasionally we are contacted for information to help owners and previous owners out in some way or another.
That was the case last week . . .
Back in 2006, Richard from South West London contacted us to supply and refurbish a LHD 110 for his house in France.
The Land Rover was refurbished and he duly exported it.
He recently made the decision to bring the Land Rover back to the UK – however, the authorities needed proof of purchase and in the intervening 16 years – he had misplaced the original invoice.
He asked his assistant Yvonne to contact us on the “off chance” that we might have some ideas.
She was amazed that within a minute of speaking to us, we were able to bring up the details of the transaction, and within an hour, we had dug out the original invoice, and were able to forward her a copy.
The Land Rover is now back in the UK and is pictured here lined up with it’s brothers !
