THU 138 – 1954 Land Rover Series 1 – 86 inch – an absolute delight !
1954 saw the wheelbase of the Series 1 Land Rover increase from 80 inches to 86 inches and the introduction of the “Long” wheel base 107 inch Land Rover.
Manufactured 23rd September 1954 and dispatched on 27th to Windmill & Lewis limited, Bristol
The subject of a very sympathetic restoration from 2014 to 2016 – with a 4 page list of work carried out – Including new genuine SU fuel pump and reconditioned distributor
This Land Rover is quite unusual as it still retains its original factory hard top.
Finished also in its original Grey colour exactly as it was when supplied new through Windmill & Lewis Limited (Bristol)
Another unusual feature is that during the late 60’s it was supplied with a brand new factory engine (not a reconditioned unit) and that engine still purrs today as it did when new.
All together making this a VERY usable Series 1 Land Rover.
MOT, Road Tax exemption and classic car insurance makes this a very affordable classic to run.
