It was great to receive this picture and the message below from Larry in California this morning.
“MKY” our Series 2 soft top Land Rover was delivered to Southampton at the end of September, on the first leg of its journey to Larry.
Larry has been tracking the ship carrying his Land Rover for the last few weeks and was excited to let us know that she has arrived safely:
Good morning Mark.
MKY 622G finally made it home! It cleared customs last Thursday but since the port is also a naval station there are lots of rules so it was easier to wait for a local transporter who had all the right credentials. The car arrived just a couple of hours ago. The only bad thing is that it got here just when it was getting dark so I won’t have much time to play with it tonight.
The car is much better than I had hoped. You clearly spent some time taking care of various details before shipping it and I’m very grateful.
I can’t thank you enough for making this transaction so easy. The car is wonderful and I’m looking forward to getting to know it. I’m attaching a picture in my driveway because I wanted to show it with the obligatory palm tree in the background. I’ll try to get some better pictures with it soon.
