Regular readers of our “Latest news” page will know that we travel the length and breadth of the country hunting down the best series Land Rovers that we can find.

We are more than happy to do this, so that we can offer our potential clients a fantastic choice of Landrovers.

However, today we were very pleasantly surprised to see this lovely 1968 Short Wheel Base station wagon drive in.

Even better, when the owner Roger from Ilkley announced that he was looking to sell it.

Obviously we were interested, and after a closer inspection of the Land Rover a deal was struck.

A few interesting things about this Land Rover – FIRSTLY – it is the actual Series 2A Land Rover  featured on the 40th Anniversary publicity – it is on the front cover of the 40th Anniversary Calender, and also features inside the 40th Anniversary Land Rover Address book.

Obviously a copy of each will be included in the eventual sale of this Land Rover.

Being a genuine station wagon, it features the original double skin rood, 4 x individual rear seats (in original elephant hide) as well as full roof lining and rear trim.

On top of all this, it is THE most delightful Series 2A to drive that we can remember having.

Everything works exactly as it did when it left the factory – a real pleasure to drive.
