2 years ago UMW 740 was purchased by Tony in Hertfordshire. He has enjoyed using it – just not often enough.
Having driven only 1500 miles in 2 years, he felt that it was time to let someone else enjoy ownership.
UMW 740 is an exceptional 1959 Series 2 Land Rover – With an exceptional story. . .
Back in 2007 Jerry Thurston (of “Salvage squad” fame) carried out a meticulous ground up restoration.
The Land Rover was then sold to Richard Hammond.
Richard has been a friend of the Land Rover Centre since 2002 – when we originally built “Buster” (His Black Soft Top 110) – in 7 days:

When Richard decided to sell “UMW” he gave us a call, and we were happy to help.
