Our archive department was called into use again this week. Bill from Wales contacted us regarding a Land Rover he has owned for over 20 years.
For most of that time – Bill has carefully stored it in a hedge on his land.
Having recently made the decision to finally pull it out and hopefully restore it – He noticed a very old plaque from Land Rover Centre Huddersfield – and decided to give us a call.
He is interested in piecing together the history, so was interested to see when we owned it.
Our computerised records go back 30 years, but unfortunately “SET” did not appear on a search.
Luckily we still have the physical stock books going back to the late 70s
After a few minutes searching we found it !
It was purchased by us from our local main agent in September 1988 (when it was only 4 and a half years old) and sold on 6 weeks later to a private buyer – also in Wales.
Update – Believe it or not – It started straight up, and drove out of the hedge !!
